Hello! I'm Shira and I'm a Bay Area-based photographer. While my work spans across a variety of genres there is one common thread: documentary.
Whether the scene is fleeting or persistent, profound or simple, pausing on an instant in time to record the visual is a powerful way to reflect on ourselves and our communities. I love being part of the process to help share these reflections for beautiful storytelling and meaningful communication.

The East Bay Parks Project
My current personal project is a focus on our beautiful backyard treasure: the East Bay Parks. Through a series of day hikes, I am gradually photographing all 73 parks in the East Bay Regional Park District system to introduce myself and others to these outdoor gems. To see the ongoing gallery of park images, check out the project page and subscribe to the newsletter.
